Sweetwater Mission

Our third award, in the amount of $12,000, goes to Sweetwater Mission, represented by Grace Comstock, Isabel Comstock, Peyton Holsinger, Priscilla Kennedy and Alaina O’Connor.

This grant will be used to fund Sweetwater’s Back To School Program, providing school uniforms, backpacks, school supplies and payless shoe gift cards to students in Cobb and Douglas counties.  While we may mourn the end of summer, here at Whitefield, we’re blessed to be able to return to school each year with a brand new backpack, several new pairs of shoes, new uniform items and a LONG list of supplies required to start the year successfully.

Not everyone is as blessed as we are.  Back to school can bring tremendous anxiety for those not sure how they will afford the things they need to return to school.  This grant affords under privileged kids in our community the opportunity to feel confident and ready, while allowing their parents to focus on providing other essential needs of their families, like food, rent and bills. Thank you girls for your continued commitment to Sweetwater Mission and your passion for service!
