Care for Aids
CARE for AIDS’ Nine-Month Program in Mombasa
Location: Mombasa, Kenya
Impact:
In Mombasa, Kenya, individuals living with HIV/AIDS face profound physical, emotional, and economic challenges, often struggling to access medical care, spiritual support, or pathways to self-sufficiency. CARE for AIDS, a faith-based organization partnering with 68 East African churches, empowers clients through a transformative nine-month program focused on physical health, spiritual growth, and life skills. For many, the lack of resources and stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS threatens their survival and hope for a better future. A $2,500 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, applied for by Fisher Brantley, enabled CARE for AIDS to fully fund five clients through the Mombasa center’s program, providing them with vital tools to thrive and contribute to their community. This grant empowered CARE for AIDS to provide:
Comprehensive medical support, including access to life-saving medications, ensuring clients’ physical health and survival.
Spiritual counseling and community support through church-based centers, fostering emotional and spiritual resilience.
Life skills training, including economic empowerment seminars, equipping clients to achieve financial independence and self-sufficiency.
Thank you, Fisher Brantley, for your family’s steadfast commitment to CARE for AIDS and for advocating for this transformative program that uplifts lives in Mombasa!
