Medical Missions Guatemala’s Maternal Health Program
Location: Rural Guatemala
Impact:
In rural Guatemala, women of childbearing age often lack access to essential nutrients and medicines, jeopardangering their health and that of their unborn children, leaving families vulnerable to malnutrition and preventable illnesses. Medical Missions Ministries, founded in 1987 by Hermann and Linda Alb, spreads the gospel and plants churches by providing medical care to the rural poor, growing from a single Toyota Corolla and a handful of medicines to a network supporting over 30 U.S. mission teams and 100 medical clinics annually. The physical and emotional toll of inadequate healthcare weighs heavily on these women, limiting their ability to thrive and nurture healthy families. A $10,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons enabled Medical Missions Guatemala to launch a new program delivering vital nutrients and medicines to 1,000 women of childbearing age, enhancing the health and well-being of both mothers and countless unborn babies. This grant empowered Medical Missions Guatemala to provide:
Essential nutrients and medicines for 1,000 women, promoting maternal health and supporting healthy pregnancies.
A sustainable program to improve the well-being of women and their unborn children, reducing the risks of malnutrition and illness.
Christ-centered care through medical clinics, spreading hope and the love of Jesus while fostering healthier communities.
Thank you to the representatives of Medical Missions Guatemala for their steadfast commitment to transforming lives through compassionate medical care and faith-based outreach!
