In Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, over 40 orphaned girls at Pasitos de Jesús face emotional and educational challenges stemming from past trauma and limited resources, often lacking access to counseling or adequate spaces for academic growth. The absence of dedicated facilities for psychological support and study can deepen feelings of isolation and hinder their development. Pasitos de Jesús provides a loving home for these girls, nurturing their emotional, spiritual, and academic potential. A $20,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, applied for by Anna Figaretti (9th grade) and Thomas Figaretti (11th grade), enabled Pasitos de Jesús to construct a new building, creating essential spaces for counseling and education. This grant empowered Pasitos de Jesús to provide:

A dedicated space for a counselor/psychologist, offering emotional and psychological support to help girls heal from trauma.

A library and computer lab/homework space, equipping girls with tools for academic success and skill development.

A nurturing environment that fosters emotional well-being and educational growth, empowering girls to pursue brighter futures.
