Restore Life
Restore Life’s Studio Mentorship Program
Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA
Impact:
In Atlanta’s Westside neighborhood of Grove Park, at-risk youth face challenges like exposure to drugs and violence, often lacking safe spaces to develop their talents and find purpose. Restore Life, a non-profit dedicated to community renewal through Jesus Christ, empowers local leaders to mentor youth and foster grassroots transformation. For many young people, the absence of creative outlets and positive role models can dim their hope for a brighter future. A $10,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, applied for by Trinity and Katy-Grace Iverson, enabled Restore Life’s Studio Mentorship Program to expand, providing at-risk youth with music production skills and Christian mentorship. This initiative, including the impactful Summer StudioGrind Camp, nurtured spiritual growth and creative expression, transforming lives and communities. The grant empowered Restore Life to provide:
Seven home studios built in kids’ homes, with Zoom training twice weekly on recording and producing using industry-standard software.
Summer StudioGrind Camp for 30 youth, teaching music marketing, production, and applying God’s word to artistry, fostering significant spiritual growth.
A music video, “White Tee,” produced by youth about protests and racial equity from a Kingdom perspective, released to inspire community dialogue.
A new studio at Thrive Academy for mentorship classes starting mid-September 2020, expanding access to creative opportunities.
Three new iMac computers and equipment like MIDI controllers, software, and microphones to support program expansion.
Three part-time mentors hired to reach 15 additional youth, growing the program’s impact to empower more students.
Thank you, Trinity and Katy-Grace Iverson, for your dedicated advocacy and commitment to advancing Restore Life’s mission to transform Atlanta’s youth through gospel-centered mentorship and creative empowerment!
