Safehouse - 2018

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

In Atlanta, SafeHouse Outreach, founded in 1982 by Philip Bray, serves as a lifeline for those experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty, offering a “hand-up, not just a hand-out” to help them transition to stability and independent living. For many, the lack of access to clean clothing deepens feelings of despair and isolation, making it harder to engage in job interviews, medical appointments, or community activities with dignity. A $5,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, represented by Asher and Caleb Ryan, empowered SafeHouse Outreach to purchase two sets of commercial washers and dryers, providing essential hygiene services to residents and the homeless community. This initiative restores a sense of self-worth and supports practical steps toward self-sufficiency. The grant enabled SafeHouse Outreach to provide:

  • Two sets of commercial washers and dryers, ensuring reliable access to clean clothing for those experiencing homelessness.

  • Enhanced hygiene services, boosting confidence and enabling individuals to pursue employment and social integration.

  • Support for SafeHouse’s mission to restore lives through compassionate service, fostering hope and dignity for Atlanta’s most vulnerable.

Thank you, Asher and Caleb Ryan, for your dedicated representation and commitment to advancing SafeHouse Outreach’s mission of faith, love, and compassionate service
