Safehouse - 2023
Location: Atlanta, GA
In Atlanta, individuals experiencing extreme poverty often lack access to basic necessities, including refreshing and safe hydration, which can exacerbate feelings of despair and disconnection. SafeHouse Outreach, founded in 1982, restores lives through faith, love, and compassionate service, helping those in need transition to independent living. The absence of adequate ice-making equipment in their main kitchen and food service area limits their ability to provide cold beverages and preserve food effectively, impacting service quality. A $4,348 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, applied for by Alden Ryan (3rd grade) and Micah Ryan (PreK), enabled SafeHouse Outreach to purchase two commercial-grade ice machines, enhancing their capacity to serve the community with dignity and care. This grant empowered SafeHouse Outreach to provide:
Two commercial-grade ice machines for the main kitchen and food service area, ensuring a reliable supply of ice for cold beverages.
Improved food service capabilities, supporting SafeHouse’s mission to offer compassionate care and meet basic needs.
Enhanced hospitality, fostering a sense of dignity and comfort for individuals seeking support toward independent living.
Thank you, Alden and Micah Ryan, for your heartfelt advocacy and commitment to advancing SafeHouse Outreach’s mission to restore lives through faith and compassionate service!
