Solidarity Sandy Springs

In Sandy Springs, Georgia, food insecurity affects countless families, with many unable to afford fresh, nutritious produce, leading to health challenges and emotional strain from limited access to healthy food options. Solidarity Sandy Springs, founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, is dedicated to reducing food insecurity by providing families with fresh, wholesome food choices while fostering community connection. The high cost of fresh produce often limits the pantry’s ability to meet the needs of the 800 people who rely on it weekly. A $10,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, awarded to Gianna and Lucy, enabled Solidarity Sandy Springs to provide two weeks of fresh fruits and vegetables, enhancing nutrition and hope for those in need. This grant empowered Solidarity Sandy Springs to provide:

Two weeks of fresh produce, including apples, bananas, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and bok choy, for 800 weekly pantry visitors.

Increased access to nutritious food, supporting the health and well-being of families facing food insecurity.

Strengthened community ties through reliable access to fresh food, aligning with Solidarity’s mission to create a supportive and nourishing environment.

Thank you, Gianna and Lucy, for your passionate advocacy and commitment to advancing Solidarity Sandy Springs’ mission to combat food insecurity and build community through nutritious food access!
