Summerhill Community Ministries’ Job Training Program

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Impact:

In Atlanta’s Summerhill area, at-risk teens aged 15-18 navigate the dangers of gang activity and drug-ridden environments, where the absence of opportunity can trap them in cycles of violence and despair. Summerhill Community Ministries, an indigenously-led Christian organization, is dedicated to uplifting these youth through personal empowerment, spiritual love, and academic enrichment. For many teens, the lack of job skills and mentorship leaves them vulnerable, with little hope for a stable future. An $8,875 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, represented by Emily David and Kaki Phillips, empowered Summerhill Community Ministries to fund job training programs, equipping at-risk teens with the skills and confidence to break free from adversity and build brighter futures. The grant enabled Summerhill Community Ministries to provide:

Job training programs tailored for teens aged 15-18, fostering practical skills for employment and self-sufficiency.

Mentorship and support to guide youth away from gangs and drugs, promoting personal growth and empowerment.

Opportunities for academic and spiritual enrichment, inspiring hope and resilience in a challenging environment.

Thank you, Emily David and Kaki Phillips, for your passionate representation and commitment to advancing Summerhill Community Ministries’ mission to uplift Atlanta’s youth through love and opportunity!
