While students at places like Whitefield Academy return with new backpacks, fresh uniforms, and ample supplies, many local families struggle to provide these basics, forcing parents to juggle competing needs like food, rent, and bills. A $12,000 grant from Bright Futures Foundation to Sweetwater Mission, represented by Grace Comstock, Isabel Comstock, Peyton Holsinger, Priscilla Kennedy, and Alaina O’Connor, empowered the Back To School Program to equip underprivileged students with the tools they need to succeed. This initiative alleviates financial burdens, boosts children’s confidence, and allows parents to focus on other critical family needs, fostering a sense of hope and readiness for the school year. The grant enabled Sweetwater Mission to provide:
