Sweetwater Mission
In Cobb and Douglas Counties, many underprivileged children face the back-to-school season with overwhelming anxiety, uncertain how their families can afford essential supplies, uniforms, or shoes needed to start the school year confidently. While students at places like Whitefield Academy return with new backpacks, fresh uniforms, and ample supplies, many local families struggle to provide these basics, forcing parents to juggle competing needs like food, rent, and bills. A $12,000 grant from Bright Futures Foundation to Sweetwater Mission, represented by Grace Comstock, Isabel Comstock, Peyton Holsinger, Priscilla Kennedy, and Alaina O’Connor, empowered the Back To School Program to equip underprivileged students with the tools they need to succeed. This initiative alleviates financial burdens, boosts children’s confidence, and allows parents to focus on other critical family needs, fostering a sense of hope and readiness for the school year. The grant enabled Sweetwater Mission to provide:
School uniforms, ensuring students meet dress code requirements and feel confident in the classroom.
Backpacks and school supplies, equipping children with the essential tools for academic success.
Payless shoe gift cards, providing students with proper footwear to start the school year with dignity.
Thank you, Grace, Isabel, Peyton, Priscilla, and Alaina, for your unwavering commitment to Sweetwater Mission and your passionate dedication to serving the community!
