Young Life’s Camp Experience for Inner-City Youth

In Atlanta’s inner-city communities, many young people face daily challenges like poverty, violence, and limited opportunities, leaving them with little chance to experience joy, hope, or a sense of purpose. Young Life, a Christian organization dedicated to reaching youth with the love of Christ, offers a transformative week-long camp experience described as the “greatest week of their lives.” For many of these kids, this Christian camp is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to encounter Jesus’ love, find inspiration, and discover a new direction for their lives. A $16,000 grant from Ten Thousand Reasons, applied for by Porter Hamilton, enabled Young Life to send approximately 40 inner-city students and their leaders to Young Life Camp, fostering personal growth and community impact. This grant empowered Young Life to provide:

Full funding for 40 students and leaders to attend Young Life Camp, covering travel, lodging, and activities.

A transformative week of mentorship, spiritual growth, and exposure to Jesus’ love, inspiring kids to envision brighter futures.

Opportunities to build lasting connections, empowering youth to positively influence their communities with hope and faith.
